SUPPLY LIST & PREPARING FOR CLASS
SUPPLIES
Brushes: Must be round and pointed.
Small brushes (#1 round) Varying sizes (start with what you have).
Cardboard backing & tape for mounting project paper to while you work.
Paint Palette: 6-well or use what you have.
Project Paper*:
One 8.5” x 5.5” piece of Arches Text Wove or 90# watercolor paper. OR other paper that can be fed through a laser toner printer.
Pigments: Use colors that best match the manuscript or experiments with
gouache colors of your choice.
• Gouache, Watercolor
• Dr. Ph. Martins Bleed Proof WhiteWater dispenser (small squirt bottle or eyedropper or pipette) for hydrating paints
Water Container & Paper Towel for rinsing brushes and catching drips.
Laser Toner Printer - must be able to accommodate your paper choice.
Laser Toner IS recommended because toner doesn’t react with water media.
Ink Jet (dye-based) printers may react with water media and is NOT Recommended.
Printing Alternative - Take the supplied pattern and project paper to a self-service toner-based printer/copier at a local office supply store to print the pattern directly on to your paper choice.Optional but Handy:

IMPORTANT - DO THIS BEFORE CLASS
PREPARE the printed line art pattern provided (or traced pattern) page by securing it to a board with artist or washi tape. Securing the paper prevents unwanted paper creases while allowing you to turn the paper while painting.
