  • Brushes: Must be round and pointed.

  • Small brushes (#1 round) Varying sizes (start with what you have).

  • Cardboard backing & Tape for mounting project paper to while you work. Risa uses a pizza box top.

  • Paint Palette: 6-well or use what you have.

  • Project Paper*:

  • One 8.5” x 5.5” piece of Arches Text Wove or 90# watercolor paper. OR other paper that can be fed through a laser toner printer.

*Alternative paper choices
• 18-sheet pack Arches Text Wove 12.25” x 13-5/16"

• Saunders Waterford watercolor

• Hahemuhle Cezanne - Cold Press - 140lbs

• Rives BFK (Very soft and whiter than Arches Text Wove

• Bienfang 90 lb, 146 gm/acid free/fine surface

• Khadi watercolor paper

• VPCo Crown paper from Vintage Paper Co.

• Hahnemühle Bugra

• Fabriano 90 lb. watercolor paper.

  • Pigments: Use what you have
    • Gouache, Watercolor or Colored Pencils
    • Dr. Ph. Martins Bleed Proof White

  • Water Container & Paper Towel for rinsing brushes and catching drips.

  • Laser Toner Printer - must accommodate project paper choice.

    Laser Toner IS recommended because toner doesn’t react with water media.

    Ink Jet (dye-based) printers will react with water media, smears and is NOT Recommended.Printing Alternative - Take the supplied pattern and project paper to a self-service toner-based printer/copier at a local office supply store to print the pattern directly on to your paper choice.
